For today’s review, I take a look at the recently released Ghostbusters Ecto-1A vehicle play set from Playmobil. Featuring the re-imagined Ecto-1 from Ghostbusters II, this play set also comes with the four original Ghostbusters in their outfits from the movie. Clocking in at 103 pieces, this set retails for $59.99. Let’s take a closer look.

The construction of the Ecto-1A was not that difficult. The instructions were easy to follow, and everything was labeled quite well. It was a fun, quick build.

With the addition of three AAA batteries, the roof of the Ecto-1A lights up and makes sound, notifying New Yorkers that the Ghostbusters are back in business.

I have been a fan of the Ghostbusters franchise since I was a little kid, and this version of the Ecto-1A is a great scale for displaying on my shelves. Bonus is that it comes with the four Ghostbusters as Playmobil figures, which are really fun.

Spangler and Venkman come with their proton packs, and Zeddemore and Stanz come with their slime packs so they can defeat Vigo.

Additionally, the Ecto-1A has a removeable roof, so the Ghostbusters and their packs can fit inside so they can travel to where the ghosts are.

With the download of the Playmobil Playmogram 3D app, kids and adults alike can take the busting of ghosts to the next level. I was able to choose from six different ghosts to catch. Of course, I chose Slimer to catch with the app. Once I loaded up Slimer and placed the trap on the phone screen, it was times to catch him.

Overall, this is a really fun play set, perfect for any Ghostbusters fan, and a great celebration of the 35th Anniversary of the franchise. Special thanks to Playmobil for sending this set over for me to review. If you want to add this piece to your collection, you can order it over with our friends at Entertainment Earth. They also have other Ghostbusters Playmobil sets from both the first release in 2017 and the 2019 release.
