Continuing with my Toy Fair highlights, here is a quick look at something I saw at the Hasbro event that I wanted to share with you all. Now, while I did not have time to visit with the entire Transformers line during the Hasbro event, I made sure I took a closer look at Ectotron, a Transformers x Ghostbusters release celebrating the 35th Anniversary of both of the franchises. A Voyager-Class figure, Ectotron transforms from the famous Ecto-1 vehicle in about 22 steps. Here are the promotional photos and description released by Hasbro.

Transformers robots have always been More the Meets the Eye, but now, through the Transformers Collaborative, fans can experience these larger than life characters as they team-up, mash-up, and meet up with other characters, teams, and people who share this same special quality. It is a world of constant change, where things are not what they seem. It is the world of the Transformers…and the Ghostbusters…a world of heroic Autobots and evil Decepticons…and ghosts!

Discover how these worlds collide in this Transformers-Ghostbusters mash-up pack! The iconic Ecto-1 Cadillac from the 1984 Ghostbusters movie is now a Transformers robot — a converting Paranormal Investigator, called Ectotron! This Ectotron figure comes with his own Proton Pack accessory and a Slimer accessory, and converts between Ecto-1 and robot modes in 22 steps.

Includes: Ectotron figure, Slimer figure, 2 accessories, and instructions.

Features:

  • Commemorate 35 years of both Transformers and Ghostbusters with 1 awesome figure!
  • Convert Ecto-1 Cadillac mode to Ectotron robot mode in 22 steps.
  • Features classic Tech Specs showing the capabilities of Ectotron, including strength, speed, and ghostbustabilty.
  • Includes Proton Pack accessory
  • Figure scale: 7 inches

Here is an actual look of the figure, in both vehicle and battle form, and Slimer from the Hasbro Event.

This brings back a lot of fun memories of both watching Ghostbusters and playing with Transformers growing up. This collaboration is wonderful, and I know I will be adding it to my collection when it comes out later this year.

If you would like to add this piece to your own collection, you can pre-order it now from GameStop. However, as it is already proving to be a popular piece, you should pre-order sooner rather than later.
