Even though my monthly Loot Crate subscription keep on showing up later that they usually do, this month I was very excited because of the theme… “Playback”. Featuring items from Back to the FutureSonic the HedgehogDungeons & Dragons, and more… I was hopeful that this crate was not a dud. I was not disappointed. Let’s check it out.

1. Loot Crate Exclusive Back to the Future  T-Shirt

I really like this DeLorean blueprint inspired t-shirt from the movie, including the signature of Dr. Emmett Brown.  It will be added to my t-shirt collection.

 2. Loot Crate Exclusive  Sonic the Hedgehog Collectible

Featuring Sonic gathering his favorite golden rings, this is a great representation of a popular video game from my childhood.

3. Loot Crate Exclusive Dungeons & Dragons Red Dragon Die Keeper

While I am not an avid gamer these days, there were times in high school and college when I always had a d20 die in my pocket in case it was needed. I love this Red Dragon die keeper, and it has already found a spot on one of the shelves in my apartment.

4. kidrobot x The Simpsons 25 Years Keychain

While this is not a Loot Crate exclusive, it’s still a fun piece to get. My blind box contained Bart’s skateboard.

5. Loot Crate Exclusive Galaga Maze Pin

One of my favorite arcade games (probably because it was teamed up with Mrs. Pac-Man where I frequented), this Galaga pin has already found a place on my kitchen bulletin board. Love it.

Overall thoughts: While Loot Crate has been going back and forth with quality with recent crates, this month is a home run, especially when compared to crates a couple of months ago. I really hope they try harder in upcoming months.

I know not every month can be a winner, but sometimes (imho, most times) it is worth the low cost to get the monthly subscription.

Each month is a different theme, and each hits a different area of geekdom. The monthly subscription is less than $20. Try it out for a month, as you can cancel at anytime.

April’s theme is “Artifacts”, and features a cute The Lord of the Rings figure from WETA Workshop, as well as items from Marvel, The Legend of Zelda, and The Dark Crystal.

Happy Looting!
