For today’s review, I take a look at the first release of the special “Mickey Colorway” collection that Funko and the Mickey the True Original Exhibition, currently running in New York City, have teamed up for. Featuring a selection of various two-toned colorways of the original Mickey Mouse 3″ mold, these limited editions are being released every other Saturday at the exhibition’s store during the show’s run, and then the following week online at Funko’s shop.

This release came out on Saturday, November 24th at the brick-n-mortar store, with release online the following week. I got mine online, hence the Funko Shop version of the sticker.

This colorway is Blue & Teal. Others in the collection can be seen here.

I am happy that I was able to get one of the colorways. When I saw them initially at Press Preview for the exhibition, I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to track any of them down, not realizing that they were going to be released online as well. I am not trying to get every one of the releases, but getting one of them to commemorate the exhibition was what was important to me. I really like this colorway as well, so bonus.

Side note: If you find yourself in New York City between now and February, I urge you to make time and see the Mickey: The True Original Exhibition. It is a beautiful celebration of Mickey Mouse, who turned 90 this past November. For more information and to buy tickets, you can go to their website.

  1. I wish your reviews would be a bit more detailed and actually reviewed the pop not just saying you’re glad you bought it. How’s the finish, what do you like about the design, what would you change?
