You mean to tell me Toy Fair is more than just vinyl collectibles? Of course it is. Throughout the four days, I am fortunate enough to attend a few events put on by various powerhouses in the toy industry that showcase the awesome products that they are putting out in 2015. One of these companies is Playmates, whose resurgence with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle brand in the past few years has been astounding. Let’s take a look at what is coming from them in 2015.
Basic figures
2015 will see a slew of new characters added to the basic action figure set, coinciding with the new television episodes on Nickelodeon and the turtles’ time in Dimension X. The movie figures will still be supported (on a smaller scale it looks like) and the classic comic look turtles will also be around.

Mutations
One of the biggest launches this line has ever seen. Included in this are the actual Mutations line, similar to Hero Mashers, where kids can mix and match characters body parts. Also included it the “pet turtle to ninja turtle” figures, as well as weapons Mutations (Donatello not included).

Large Scale Turtles
2015 will see the movie turtles getting in on the biog figure action, as well as some specialized regular tutles, including some Interactive Technology, Power Coil, Dimension X, and even a remote Controlled Leonardo.

Vehicles and Play Sets
In 2015, more vehicles from the TV series will make their debut, including the Pizza Thrower and connectable patrol buggies. Mutations will find itself taking over some of the vehicles as well. The blimp is back, as well as an updated turtle lair Play Set. New for 2015 will be a 2ft tall Leonardo, which will open up into a new Play Set. Pretty cool.

Role Play
New this year will be the Dimension X interactive weapons, which will be sold alongside of the other stuff.
T-Machines
Another big push for 2015 are Playmates’ die-cast TMNT collectible…. T-Machines. Each diecast vehicles is themed around the character it carries. Sold in both singles and twin packs, the first series is out now, with more coming throughout the year. Also coming out to support this lines are a slew of Play Sets.

Half-Shell Heroes
When I was told about these cute little guys last year at Toy Fair, I knew they would be a hit… and I was right. About a third of the show floor this year was dedicated to this brand, geared towards the littlest TMNT fan. From figures, vehicles, and play sets to tub toys, interactive figures, and role play… this is a perfect line for little ones.

And with that ended my visit with Playmates and TMNT. They are putting out some really great stuff in 2015, and I can’t wait to visit with them again in 2016 to see what’s in store.
