Today, I take a look at one of the Funko Fall Convention Exclusives this year, shared between NYCC 2019 and Hot Topic here in the US. Featuring a very popular character from The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror line of Pop! Vinyls. Here is Evil Groundskeeper Willie.
Airing in 1995, “Nightmare on Evergreen Terrace” was one of three segments as part of Treehouse of Horror VI. In this episode, Groundskeeper Willie parodies Freddy Kruger from the Nightmare on Elm Street movies, and attacks Springfield Elementary’s schoolchildren in their sleep. Bart, Lisa, and Maggie enter their dreams together to fight off Willie and save all the children.
I really enjoy the Treehouse of Horror line of Pop! Vinyls, but with limited space in my apartment, I decided to not collect the entire line when they were announced. However, when I saw that Willie would be joining the line with this exclusive, I felt like I had to have it. Growing up, the bumbling Groundskeeper Willie was one of my favorite characters in the TV series, and “Nightmare on Evergreen Terrace” is one of my favorite Treehouse of Horror episodes. I am very happy that I was able to track him down at Hot Topic.
