The D23 Expo is one of my favorite conventions of the year due to my years of being a huge fan of all things Disney. This includes being a fan of the theme parks, movies, merchandise and the general history of the company. D23 just brings all of this together in one weekend this year from August 23rd through the 25th.  Besides panels about all the major departments of Disney, there are some amazing exclusives you can get. The one we’re talking about today is the brand new Metallic Ursula with Flotsam & Jetsam Funko Pop Vinyl that will be shared exclusive with
Box Lunch!

Box Lunch was gracious enough to send us an Ursula to review, so let’s take a look. First,  the box has a D23 exclusive sticker, for those attending the event, plus the 30th anniversary “The Little Mermaid” sticker. I’m not sure why but Funko fans love them some stickers. As for retail price, this Pop won’t cost much…..just your voice  ahem, I mean $15.

Out of the box, this Pop really impresses us with detail and quality. The amount of detail you will find is amazing.  From the hair, to the earrings, to Flotsam and Jetsam, this Pop really captures the essence of this classic Disney character.

I just can’t get over how far Funko has come in design. Details is where Funko has really upped their game. Ursula is a perfect example. Don’t believe me? Look at the original Ursula released years ago.

Now if you can’t attend the D23 Expo and you’re a fan of The Little Mermaid, don’t lose out hope! Box Lunch will have a limited amount available at www.boxlunch.com on August 22nd and in stores the day after. When it comes to convention releases, Box Lunch is one of the best at handling the rush of collectors so fear not Ursula Fans! Normally the exclusives pop up online between 12:00am and 12:30am but we’ll know more information as the 22nd draws nearer.   Follow us on Twitter (@PopVinyls) and BoxLunch (@BoxLunchGifts) for more information about the online release.  Thank you again to Box Lunch for letting us review our favorite sea witch!
