Welcome to Flashback Friday where I discuss Pops from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Anything Pop related to the MCU is up for discussion including films and television series. Let’s jump right in with this week’s discussion and the first Flashback Friday of March. Daredevil from the Marvel and Netflix Daredevil set is this week’s featured MCU Pop.

Daredevil
#120 Daredevil

The “Man Without Fear” makes his big return to the Flashback Friday series. I think this is the final Pop from that set to talk about. I know I’m in the minority when I say “I rather enjoyed the original Daredevil film with Ben Affleck as the ostensible hero.” So when it was announced that Marvel would be coming to Netflix with more “grown up” shows I was very excited. I was also very happy that the first property they were going to do was Daredevil. The first season which this set is based on blew away all of my expectations. I thought it was a great first season and was eager to see where they’d go next.

The Devil of Hell's Kitchen

So of course Funko gives the fans a small set based on the first season. The set pretty much had most of what you’d want from the show. I think most people were like where in the heck is the red costume we’ve become accustomed to? Well it definitely made an appearance towards the end of the season and it didn’t disappoint. This Pop is a fantastic tribute to the character and costume. It has the sleek mix of black and red along with his signature weapons. You know it might be everything I’ve ever wanted in a Daredevil Pop. The Devil of Hell’s Kitchen was widely released and I can vividly remember walking into Hot Topic four years ago and purchasing it with a smile on my face. It’s one of my favorite designs and I show it off proudly.

For those that are four years late to the party well at least you made it. Daredevil is not vaulted and has not jumped outrageously in price. So what does this mean “true believers”? It means that you can add it to your collection without breaking the bank. It’s not available in stores anymore unless you happen to find one in a hobby shop. You’ll have to take your search online to Amazon, eBay, Mercari, Offer Up, or Facebook groups to get your hands on Matt. It’s very likely you’ll be shelling out less than $15.00 before taxes, fees, and shipping. Do yourself a favor and add this Pop to your collection. It’s well worth it.

Answer the two trivia questions below and choose an MCU Pop that I haven’t covered in a Flashback Friday article. Leave your answers and choice in the comments section. If your answers are correct I will choose a random person with the correct responses and their choice will be featured in a future article. This week’s trivia will come from Daredevil season 1.

Question 1: What is the name of Matt’s best friend and legal partner?

Question 2: What’s the name of the person that creates Matt’s suit?

I hope you enjoyed this week’s column. Check back next week for a brand new Flashback Friday and don’t forget to join our Facebook group. Excelsior!

I've been an avid Pop MCU collector for the last few years. I've recently focused my collection on Captain America Funko products since he's my favorite Marvel superhero. I've also been collecting and playing the Pokémon Trading Card game for the last decade. I also run and judge events. I'm into Marvel, DC, Pokémon, Disney, The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, and WWE.
