Continuing my Toy Fair coverage, during the weekend I was able to swing by the Playmobil booth to check out three of their licensed lines that they will be releasing this year. Let’s check them out.
Dreamworks Dragons
Following up their popular release of their first line of sets inspired by the How to Train Your Dragon franchise, this month shows the release of sets based on the just released Hidden World movie, the third in the trilogy of movies from Dreamworks. Displayed at Toy Fair were all but a surprise set that was a movie spoiler. Sets range from $5.99 to $39.99.
Ghostbusters
For their Ghostbusters line, Playmobil is venturing into the second movie with a set of the Ghostbusters in their black costumes, which feature the pink ectoplasm, and an updated Ecto-1a. This set will retail for $59.99.
Additionally, Playmobil heard the voices of their collector fan base, and are releasing both a normal scale set of Ghostbusters (set retails for $19.99), and each of the Ghostbusters in a 6″ form ($49.99 each), all in collector’s style window boxes.
Playmobil the Movie
A couple of months ago, Playmobil officially released the trailer to their upcoming Playmobil the Movie. Here is the trailer:
To celebrate the movie’s release this year, Playmobil is releasing a bunch of sets inspired by the movie. Ranging from $9.99 to $59.99, these sets feature characters and worlds that exist in the movie. The collection comes out in August.
