Today, I take a look at two of the incarnations of the man-eating plant known as Audrey II from the hit Off-Broadway musical turned movie Little Shop of Horrors. In this review, I include the regular release version of the full grown Audrey II, as well as the Baby Audrey II, which was exclusive to Target stores earlier this year.
Little Shop of Horrors is one of my all time favorite musicals, both on stage and on the screen. While I was too young to see the Off Broadway version of it when it first came to NYC in 1982, I was able to see the Broadway production when it debuted in 2003. Being a big fan and having seen the 1986 movie numerous times, seeing it come to life on the stage will be something I will never forget.
While I decided that I did not want to collect ALL of the Pop! Vinyls from this line (I have a bunch of friends who did so), I did want at least the regular version of Audrey II. Even though the box is a tad beat up, I am happy that I was able to get Baby Audrey II as well. Both sculpts are great and showcase the menacing plant very well.
Overall, great additions to my collection… and I am now wanting to watch the movie again!
