Welcome to Flashback Friday where I discuss Pops from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Anything Pop related to the MCU is up for discussion including films and television series. Let’s jump right in with this week’s discussion. Vulture from the Spider-Man: Homecoming set is this week’s featured MCU Pop.

#227 Vulture

Discussion: I didn’t know how I was going to feel about another reboot of the Spider-Man character after the Amazing Spider-Man series had a less than stellar showing at the box office and reviews were sub-par. When Sony and Disney made the deal for Spider-Man to make an appearance in Captain America: Civil War I was more confident if Marvel Studios kept creative control of the character. I was extremely happy with the character in Civil War and knowing this I was even more surprised at how much more I enjoyed Homecoming. The film is tons of fun and having Iron Man and Happy Hogan throughout the film was such a treat for those of us wanting Spider-Man to be a part of the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marvel for the most part have had great success with their heroes but a lot of the time the villain leaves you wanting more. That’s not the case this time because Vulture is amazing. He’s a great antagonist for Peter, has good reasoning behind his motivations and is easily my favorite villain since Loki.

Vulture was released last year at stores around the world. Checking recent eBay sales you’re in luck. The Pop is still going for right around retail value so you should be able to pick it up for about $10.00 not including any fees, taxes, or shipping. If you’re a fan of the character or a fan of good villains you should definitely add this to your collection. I haven’t picked one up yet because I haven’t seen many around my area and it’s not super high on my priority list at the moment. It’s a good looking Pop though and it’s a nice addition to any collection. Look for the Vulture to make a return in next year’s Spider-Man: Far From Home. Perhaps Funko will even release an unmasked version in the future to keep fans coming back for more.

Trivia: Be the first to comment with the correct answers to both questions and win. If you become the weekly champion you must choose a Pop within the MCU that has not been featured in the Flashback Friday series and post it after your answers. The questions are from Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Q1: How old was Tom Holland when he was cast as Peter Parker?

Q2: What two Avengers appeared in the film?

I hope you enjoyed this week’s column. Please check back next week for a brand new Flashback Friday and don’t forget to join our Facebook group. Excelsior!

I've been an avid Pop MCU collector for the last few years. I've recently focused my collection on Captain America Funko products since he's my favorite Marvel superhero. I've also been collecting and playing the Pokémon Trading Card game for the last decade. I also run and judge events. I'm into Marvel, DC, Pokémon, Disney, The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, and WWE.

  1. I think he was 16 and the 2 avengers were Captain America and Iron Man.
Have you covered the Nick Fury pop from Avengers? It doesn’t get enough love, hopefully we’ll get a new one when Captain Marvel comes out
