In less than two months, Marvel fans will be treated to Avengers: Infinity War, a movie ten years in the making. Infinity War and its sequel are rumored to have a combined budget of almost one billion dollars, which is only slightly more than the amount of money I’ll end up spending on Avengers-related merchandise. I started out with Funko’s take on Corvus Glaive, second-in-command to the mad titan Thanos.
While Glaive probably won’t be a major character in Infinity War, his comic book persona is very intimidating, and this figure captures his creepy, shadowy look perfectly. The dark green and black costume really has a sinister effect, and the details in his cloak and armor are great, with immaculately-painted gold accents. The bright red eyes and scowling expression top off the thoroughly evil feel of this figure. I was also pleasantly surprised to find that his weapon was relatively straight when taken out of the box, as the bending of soft plastic can often be a problem for Pops with sword or spear-like accessories.
Amid the hype for Infinity War, Marvel has moved the release date up a week to April 27th, so keep an eye out for Funko’s impressive lineup of figures as we get closer and closer.
Eh, not sure what to think about this one. I’ll wait until after I see the movie to form a better opinion on it.
Off topic: Maybe I missed it, but I see no mention of the Funko shop exclusive Black Panther’s Okoye pop on the site? Is it going to be reviewed? I was wondering what the site’s opinion on it was.
Love Corvus in the comics, and waiting to see what they’ll do with him in the films (Presuming he lives to the second one, lol). I’ll have to pick this one up
