Hey everybody! Welcome to another edition of the Highlight! You almost have another week done under the belt, but before you sit back and unwind for the weekend I’ve got some of my favorite photos from my Instagram account featuring stars from the Flash! I figured since the Flash had it’s season finale this past Tuesday and that my life is going to be in darkness until the premiere in October that I’d try to get through the pain a little by showing the Pops from the Flash some love on today’s edition of the Highlight! As always you can find more of my work over on Instagram (@Esbjo_Figs – Click Here!) and my kid friendly reviews over on Youtube (Eddie’s Toy Box – Click here!) but… ya know click those after the article. That photo up top comes to us from season one of the Flash. Barry is discovering the extent of his powers while a massive tornado threatens the city. That’s also my Throwback Thursday photo of the week! But let’s move on with the new stuff!

“Palmer? I barely know her! Just kidding… names Ant-Man. I know… I didn’t pick it. Hey! Do you know my buddy Steve? He’s a Captain too!”

Captain Cold from the Pop! Television Flash series and Ant-Man from the Pop! Marvel line Ant-Man series. Captain Cold got his break fighting the Flash in season one, but Wentworth Miller was on to bigger and better things when he signed up to be one of the Legends on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. Also on Legends of Tomorrow? Ray Palmer AKA The Atom, with the ability to shrink down using his super suit in the same fashion that Marvel’s Ant-Man can. So the mashup of Marvel/DC was born through that similarity.. Of course Captain Cold would question whether or not Palmer was the one running down his Cold Gun so Ant-Man rambling on about his name and making a silly joke at Palmer’s expense only seemed fitting to be the title.

“We’re not so different ya know? What happened to use when we were kids. You could have just as easily become me.”

Jay Garrick (DC Legions of Collectors Exclusive) and Unmasked Flash (SDCC Exclusive) from the Pop! Television Flash series. This can be considered a spoiler. So, my apologies! But come on the Flash is the absolute best show on television and deserves to be watched live. Jay Garrick, or Hunter Zoloman’s big reveal comes towards the end of the season when the viewer discovers that Hunter’s upbringing wasn’t that different from Barry’s. Where Barry had Joe West… Hunter had nobody to guide him through the darkness of losing someone close to him and instead embraced the darkness himself. The reflection of Barry in the water is to represent the reflection that Hunter sees in Barry. That Barry is one dark event away from embracing his own hatred and becoming something or rather somebody he hates the most… Hunter. So that was the reason for creating this photo.

Reverse Flash, The Flash, and Zoom from the Pop! Television line The Flash Series. My last photo for you is a mix up of the three Speedsters to be created by Funko so far. I saw an online photo very similar to this featuring the actual stars of the show and decided to try my hand at creating it with the Pops. The original title was that I don’t know what I would do waiting until October for brand new episodes and that i’d probably just give in to the Darkness. And every time I write the Darkness I’m picture the lead singer from the Darkness with his big hair telling me he believes in a thing called love. Now you are too. I digress. So I took the Reverse Flash, Flash, and Zoom and put them in a blender and out came this! Barry’s Big Bad’s have been deeply involved in his life and his journey to becoming the great superhero he is in the future so you can’t help but wonder the impact that it’s making on him as a person. I look forward to the next season and who he’ll trust this time around that ends up being a mistake. Maybe another Speedster?

That’s all the time I have today! Thank you so much for joining me for this column and for supporting me on all my avenues over Social Media.
