Funko’s third subscription box service, Legion of Collectors, has just began shipping their 2nd box and we here at PopVinyls.com have our review copy! As a fan of DC and Funko, this service is a no brainer for me. But for those on the fence on subscribing, let’s review what’s in this box.  If you haven’t figured it out yet, spoilers will follow!

One small detail that Funko has nailed with their sub boxes is the designs of their boxes. Nobody is buying these things for the shipping containers but I personally feel it’s an added touch that I appreciate. This month’s theme was DC television shows and we get my favorite right off the bat: Arrow!

Inside the box, the artwork continues. I love the comics.

A staple of all three Funko sub boxes are pins and patches. I’m a fan  of these as I like some consistency in the small items in a box. I prefer this to the junk you find in other company’s boxes. The quality of both are really good as well.

The shirt in this box can’t get enough love. It is without a doubt my favorite shirt I have received in any subscription box. My tshirt drawer had become slightly overrun with  Pop tshirts so this more traditional design was appreciated. The fact that I love Arrow adds to the love of course.

So with Arrow getting the shirt design, I had a feeling Flash would the theme of the Pop. Yep and it’s a great one: Jay Garrick. The treasonous fiend! Well at least in his non-murderous guise. I was really excited to have a character never used by Funko before as the Pop. Excellent choice.

The next biggest part of the box is usually one of Funko’s secondary lines such as mystery minis, dorbz, mopeez, etc. This month, Funko debuts one of its newest lines “Rock Candy” in the box with a Supergirl figure.  Whatever you feel about the line, they are well designed and definitely neat. My daughters already want to add more of these to their collections.

Let’s not forget to check out the comic book for this month. I love the TV Flash cover.

The May Legion of Collector’s box far exceeded my expectations.  The March box was solid with the Armored Batman and Dorbz two pack. I feel this month’s value is even greater. I like that we got a new Pop design, an amazing shirt, and a new line in the box. The value far exceed the $25 you paid and that’s all a sub box should aim to do. It will never please everyone but as long as people continue to get their money’s worth, they should subscribe. Legion of Collectors continues the strong tradition that the Marvel Collector Corps and Smuggler’s Bounty boxes began.

The next Legion of Collectors box is Suicide Squad so don’t forget to subscribe to that one. What do you feel about this month’s box?
