Yesterday, it was reported by Licence! Global that Cartoon Network has signed on with multiple hard-line partners to create toys based on the popular animated TV series Steven Universe, which is currently in its’ second season and already signed on for a third. One of these partners is Funko. Here are the details as reported on their site:
Funko will launch a series of four Pop! Vinyl figures based on Steven and Amethyst, Pearl and Garnet–better known as the Gems–that will be available exclusively at Hot Topic.
Now, while License! Global is a pretty reputable site as far as licensing news, nothing I have found officially confirms this news directly from Cartoon Network or Funko. That being said, it’s great news for Steven Universe fans, but might not necessarily be the entire picture.
