Time for the highlight! Thursday Night Highlight! And you may be wondering just where I was last week. Well it’s simple. SDCC. Just kidding. I wasn’t there. Instead I was up awake all night Wednesday into Thursday going through my head the many ways I could miss the “Summer Convention Exclusives” at Hot Topic and Barnes and Noble so when Thursday finally came I was running on three hours of sleep and stalking online websites for the exclusives I wasn’t able to obtain in store. So needless to say there was no time for the Highlight. No energy. I apologize. I promised some Minions based photos because the Minions took over my Instagram last week and I failed to deliver. But I’m here now with some SDCC exclusive photos! SDCC 2013 Exclusive Tony Stark and SDCC 2015 Exclusive Unmasked Captain America from the Pop! Marvel line. So next year we’ll have Iron Man vs. Captain America on the big screen and you can bet your bottom dollar that we’ll see new Pops based off of the Civil War movie. But until then I figured I’d use these two unmasked beauties to create the above image where they are split in half. There is another photo like this floating around using their real selves but you know we gotta always put a pop spin on things. So, who’s side are you on?
“Warning: Toy Photographers Are Closer Than They Appear.”
R2D2 and SDCC 2015 Exclusive C-3PO from the Pop! Star Wars line. So I wanted to take a picture of these two best buds together and I wanted to do the traditional in the sand/desert type photo, but unfortunately my kids left the lid off of their sandbox and it rained. So that was out of the question. So I took this and then realized that C-3PO is so metallic that it caught my reflection in the photo. So, yeah. Sometimes I like putting myself into my work. Big whoop. Now to get new sand…
“Disgust isn’t pleased with her plain hair.”
Disgust and SDCC 2015 Exclusives Joy and Sadness from the Pop! Disney line. So this photo I haven’t even posted on my Instagram yet! You are getting a Popvinyls.com First To Mar—Internet exclusive here! Disgust did not get the sparkle hair treatment like her emotional sisters and she is not pleased about it. Chances are with NYCC coming up as well as D23 she may end up getting the sparkle treatment, and really why wouldn’t she? It’s a very simple very easy variant to make. So this photo goes for that look of bitterness and disgust for being left out. Sadness doesn’t look too happy about it either. And rubber body Joy is just like “Eh let’s party!” before she falls down numerous times because her body is pure rubber and doesn’t withstand the weight of her head. But I digress!
