Last month, we announced that PopVinyls.com and custom artists were coming together to raise money for Toys for Tots. You can read that article HERE but basically we will be auctioning off donated custom Pops in our VK Auction House to raise money for Toys for Tots. We have now finished two rounds of auctions for Toys for Tots and have raised well over $1000 for this great charity. We have one last round of custom auctions beginning Monday December 15th. Today I want to show you Sierra Psych-babble’s Nutcrackers.
When Sierra’s custom arrived, I asked her a few questions!
What got you into making custom Pops?
There are so many characters I would love to see as Pops that Funko hasn’t released yet (possibly never will!) that I thought I should try my hand at it. I have always loved art and creative outlets, so this has proved to be a fun endeavor.
How long have you been making customs?
About 5 months.
What is the favorite custom you have made?
Definitely my Mega Charizard Y! Pokémon is one of those lines I just don’t think Funko will get and the child in me screamed for a Charizard Pop!
What was the inspiration for the piece you created for our Pops for Tots auctions?
Nutcrackers. I think Nutcrackers are very under appreciated in the world today, with the convenience of pre-shelled nuts, and we have lost sight of how beautifully crafted some Nutcrackers are. I decided we needed a classical Nutcracker Santa and Mrs. Clause with a modern twist to it.
