How many of you out there are fans of The Walking Dead Comic Cook Series? The gang over at Diamond Select Toys must be, because their selections of Minimates to release with each series keep on getting better and better. Like previous series, the new Series 5 sets of figures, debuting this month, will have both a Comic Shop assortment and a Toys ‘R’ Us exclusive assortment. The characters included in each assortment are:

• Traveler Rick Grimes and Business Zombie
• Riot Gear Michonne and Hitchhiker Zombie
• Abraham Ford and Military Zombie
• Eugene Porter and Emaciated Zombie
The Walking Dead Minimates Series 5 Comic Shop Assortment
• Maggie Greene & Riot Gear Glenn
• Tyreese and Prison Michonne
• Survivor Morgan and Geek Zombie
• Caesar Martinez and Geek Zombie (rare variant)
Diamond Select Toys sent me over a set of the Toys ‘R’ Us Assortment packs to take a look at… and I like what I see.
Traveler Rick Grimes and Business Zombie
Rick comes an extra set of arms and his jacket, as well as a shotgun, a pistol, a flashlight, and his backpack.
The Business Zombie comes with both a regular arm as well as a bloody stump of an arm, which are interchangeable.
Riot Gear Michonne and Hitchhiker Zombie
Michonne comes with a second shirt/ arm set, as well as her regular hair. her weapons include her sword and a pistol. The Hitchhiker comes with a vest.
Abraham Ford and Military Zombie
Abraham’s first appearance in the Minimates line. He comes with an assault weapon, a pistol and a knife.
The Military Zombie comes with a removable set of guts (which can go on any Minimates), as well as both a bloody stump and a regular arm.
Eugene Porter and Emaciated Zombie
This is also Eugene’s first appearance as a Minimate. He comes with an automatic rifle. The Emaciated Zombie features specially molded thin arms.
All in all, i think this is a very well designed line, and a great tribute to the end of the Prison series of figures. Also enjoyed seeing the addition of Abraham and Eugene, who are staple characters. As always, the assortment of extras, with removable and interchangeable parts, are top notch. Bravo for another very well designed series, DST!
