A chase variant is an alternate version of a standard Funko Pop! figure, usually featuring a different paint scheme, material finish, or character pose. Chase figures are inserted into shipments at a lower ratio than the common version. Retailers typically cannot order chases separately; they arrive randomly in cases.
Funko has used chase programs for years across multiple lines. A chase is not the same as a convention exclusive, a retailer sticker exclusive, or a Funko Shop limited run. Those items are produced as deliberate limited editions with defined distribution channels. A chase is a production variant hidden inside regular stock.
How to identify a chase
Most chase variants include a gold “CHASE” sticker on the front window of the box. The box number usually matches the common figure, but the figure inside differs. Always compare the figure to product photos from a trusted database before paying chase-level prices.
Some older lines used different chase ratios depending on the year and property. Funko does not publish a single universal ratio for every SKU, so treat case odds as property-specific rather than guaranteed.
Buying advice
Buy sealed boxes from reputable sellers if you want a chance at pulling a chase yourself. Buying on the secondary market? Confirm the sticker, inspect window damage, and cross-reference the sculpt against our Pop! Vault database.
