Welcome to Flashback Friday where I discuss pops from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Anything pop related to the MCU is up for discussion including films and television series. Let’s jump right in with this week’s discussion which was chosen by me since no one correctly answered last week’s trivia from the Winter Soldier. Dancing Groot dances his way back into Flashback Friday with three variations.
Discussion: Towards the end of Guardians of the Galaxy fans all over the world were very sad that Groot seemingly sacrificed himself to save his “family”. It was one of the more touching scenes in the film where Groot says “We Are Groot” which brought many of us to tears. Fortunately, James Gunn gave us a very awesome credit scene where Groot is in a pot for plants rocking out to the Jackson 5 while Drax sharpens a weapon right behind him. It’s a terrific scene in which Dancing Groot was born. Dancing Groot became so popular that there’s been five pop versions and I’ve even seen a Disney exclusive Dancing Groot toy at Downtown Disney in Anaheim, California.
Not only did we get the two holiday Dancing Groot which I’ve previously covered here but you now have these three with different colored pots which make them unique. One is an exclusive from Hot Topic and another is exclusive to Entertainment Earth. As you can see from the images one is a plain white pot. Another is a teal color that says I Am Groot on it. The last one is red and has the Ravager logo on the front. Each pot looks different but the Groot is the same for each one. If you enjoy Dancing Groot be sure to pick up all five for your collection.
I can tell you that I have all five Dancing Groot and they’re sitting on my dresser in my room surrounded with the other Guardians. They look really cool having all of them side by side. The non-exclusive you can probably pick up from between $5.00 to $10.00 depending on location. For being a couple of years old and exclusives the prices are not bad at all. You should be able to pick both up for less than $30.00 together which I think is pretty reasonable.
