As the holidays quickly approach, you may be struggling to find that perfect gift for the TITAN Merchandise collector in your life. Luckily, I recently talked to two of my collector friends, Kevin and Stephen and we came up with the 2016 TITAN Merchandise Must Have List!
Kevin’s Top 3 Picks:
- Ghostbusters 2 – Following the huge hit of “Ghostbusters – Who You Gonna Call?” last year, it was no surprise that Matt Jones and TITAN Merchandise announced the “Ghostbusters 2 – I Ain’t Afraid of No Ghost Collection”. Egon, Spengler, Venkman and Zeddmore make a return along with the Ecto 1 and Slimer to take on Vigo and Janosz.
You can get this collection at both Entertainment Earth and Forbidden Planet
- Clear Cyberman – A special exclusive for Doctor Who Comic Book Day, only 1,000 figures were made! The translucent Cyberman comes from the “Army of Ghost” episode from Season 2 of Doctor Who. We still can’t get over how awesome this translucent figure looks!
Since this is a harder figure to find, eBay would be the best place to start your search!
- 4.5” Clara Tardis – Following the thread of Doctor Who, the TITAN Merchandise collector in your family would be happy to get the 4.5” Clara TARDIS this holiday season! Our first look at this TARDIS came in the “Face the Raven” episode and has quickly become a favorite of collectors. This NYCC 2016 exclusive figure will have a 3” counterpart once the “Doctor Who – Heaven Sent and Hell Bent” collection comes out early next year.
You can find the 4.5” Clara TARDIS on both Entertainment Earth and Forbidden Planet
Stephen’s Top 3 Picks:
- Topless Sulu with Fencing Sword – This chase figure was a pleasant surprise in the “Star Trek – Where No Man Has Gone Before Collection”. Unlike previous collections, the Where No Man Has Gone Before Collection only has 1 chase figure per box, making getting your hands on this figure a bit harder, but worth it!
Since this is a harder figure to find, eBay would be the best place to start your search!
- Toasty Stay Puft Marshmallow Man – Another great chase figure that any collector would love to get their hands on is the Toasty Stay Puft Marshmellow Man. Not to be confused with the “Red Stay Puft Marshmellow Man”, which was a SDCC 2015 exclusive, this figure was one of four chase figures in the “Ghostbusters – Who You Gonna Call? Collection”. He looks great next to the non-toasty version of himself!
Since this is a harder figure to find, eBay would be the best place to start your search!
- Doctor Who Series 3/50th Anniversary – When Doctor Who was celebrating 50 years, TITAN Merchandise released the third series, also known as the 50th Anniversary Collection, of Doctor Who figures. This collection featured all of the Doctors (at that time) and is a must have for any Doctor Who fan and TITAN Merchandise collector. Make sure you get the War Doctor from the Geronimo Collection, as well as the 12th Doctor from the Rebel Time Lord Collection to round out all of the Doctors!
You can find the 50th Anniversary Collection on Entertainment Earth
Dave’s Top 3 Picks:
- Alien vs. Predator Glow In The Dark Two Pack – Matt Jones’ and TITAN Merchandise’s Alien and Predator figures are awesome. The glow in the dark figures are AMAZING! Luckily for collectors, these figures come together in a window box so you can see them right away. Take them out or leave them in the box, just make sure they absorb enough light so they light up in a dark room!
You can find the Alien vs. Predator Glow In The Dark Two Pack on Toys R Us.
- The Battlestar Galactica: So Say We All Collection – Any fan of TITAN Merchandise knows that this set has been a long time coming! First announced a couple of years back, the Battlestar Galactica series disappeared for a bit, but earlier this year, the final product photos were released to waiting fans. Collectors of TITAN Merchandise, and fans of the show, will be excited to get their hands on characters from the show and those awesome looking Cylons!
You can pre-order the “Battlestar Galactica So Say We All Collection” on both Entertainment Earth and Forbidden Planet. Just let the receiver know that it is coming out early 2017!
- 6.5” Dematerializing TARDIS – This figured surprised a lot of collectors earlier this year, since it was announced as a Hot Topic exclusive on their website, proving that TITAN Merchandise still knows how to keep things under wraps! This figure looks amazing, especially if you are able to shine a light up through the bottom of it. This is a great addition for any TITAN Merchandise collector, as well as Doctor Who fan! And make sure you get the 3” version as well from the “Fantastic Collection”
You can find the 6.5” Dematerializing TARDIS on Hot Topic’s site.
- Any figure signed by Matt Jones – Matt Jones is the man. Not only does he do some amazing sculpts, interacts with collectors and fans and works hard, but he also sells limited quantities of artist proof figures on his site. Each figure is hand numbered and signed by Matt and includes a certificate of authenticity for the receiver. A figure from him really makes a collection stand out and would make any collector happy!
You can find artist proof figures signed by Matt Jones on his site.
So there you have it! My 2016 “Must Haves” for a TITAN Merchandise collector! With so many collections and over a thousand figures, you are bound to find something for the collector in your life!
Happy Holidays!
