As 2016 comes to an end, we turn our attention to 2017 and some awesome collections that TITAN Merchandise has announced, and predict some collections that they may announce!

Doctor Who (Early 2017)

This year saw the release of the 9th Doctor in the Fantastic Collection, as well as the 11th Doctor and friends in The Good Man Collection. We were also teased by TITAN Merchandise into the 10th collection in their Doctor Who series; the Heaven Sent and Hell Bent Collection which is due to be released in January/February 2017.

HeavenSentHellBent

The Heaven Sent and Hell Bent Collection features the 12th Doctor in his maroon and blue coats, armed with his new Sonic Screwdriver and his cool Sonic Sunglasses. Coming along for the ride are his companion Clara, nemesis/best friend Missy, Osgood, his wife River Song, the immortal Ashildr, and the possibly-not-real Santa Claus! But it’s not just the Doctor’s allies included in the set – there’s also the intimidating Fisher King, the scheming Davros, and the snakelike Colony Sarff!

So what can we expect for Doctor Who in 2017? The fans and collectors have been asking for a companion collection focusing on some of the Doctor’s previous companions, which would make for a great collection. Personally, I would love to see a Doctor vs. The Master collection. Depending on when the newest Doctor Who series airs, I predict that we will see another 12th Doctor Collection which includes his newest companion, Bill.

Metal Gear Solid (June 2017)

Heading back into the realm of video games, TITAN Merchandise announced the release of the Metal Gear Solid V – “The Phantom Pain Collection”:

PhantomPain

The Phantom Pain Collection features the iconic heroes and villains from the legendary franchise, Metal Gear Solid. From mercenary Venom Snake and his faithful pet wolf DD to allies like Quiet, Ocelot, and Kazuhira Miller, everyone is here. Also featured in the set are the villainous Skull Face and, bad-guys-in-the-making, Tretij Rebenok and Eli! Plus, it wouldn’t be a Metal Gear wave without a Metal Gear! The Phantom Pain Collection also includes, scaled down from it’s original 5-foot size, Metal Gear Sahelanthropus!

This looks like it is going to be an amazing collection and we really hope that TITAN Merchandise considers making a 6″ Sahelanthropus figure! Make sure you pre-order this collection from Entertainment Earth and Forbidden Planet.

So, can we expect another Metal Gear Solid collection in 2017? It all depends on how The Phantom Pain is received by fans and collectors. Metal Gear Solid is a game that has a lot of depth and history for, so basing another collection off of it would be easy.

Star Trek (February 2017)

This year marked the 50th Anniversary of Star Trek, and to celebrate, TITAN Merchandise announced the “Where No Man Has Gone Before Collection” and the “Make It So Collection”. While you are able to find theĀ “Where No Man Has Gone Before Collection”, fans and collectors will have to wait until February 2017 for the “Make It So Collection”:

“Engage!” The Titans Make It So Collection brings your favorite characters from Star Trek: The Next Generation into your favorite Titan vinyl figure form! This Star Trek: The Next Generation Titans Make It So Collection Mini-Figure Display Case contains a total of 20 pieces individually blind boxed pieces. The Make It So Collection features your favorite characters and include the following (subject to change): Data, Worf, Picard, Riker, Troi, Q, Yar, Lafarge, Beverly, Wesley, Tomalak, Gul Madred, Gowron, and Locutis.

Pre-order the “Make It So Collection” at Entertainment Earth and Forbidden Planet.

TITAN also announced that they had secured the right to all of the Star Trek generations leading up to the recent movies, so I can see them releasing a “Deep Space 9 Collection” or possibly revisiting the first two collections and rounding them out with some more characters.

Battlestar Galactica (January 2017)

Oh Battlestar Galactica, how we have waited for you! Announced a couple of years ago, this collection has been sitting on the shelf waiting for the moment that it is released to fans and collectors, and luckily for us, 2017 will be that year!

Ronald D Moore’s inspired re-imagining of Battlestar Galactica is amazingly represented here with this Battlestar Galactica 2004 Titans Vinyl Mini-Figures Master Case. This 13 piece set celebrates Battlestar Galactica’s epic struggle for survival as humankind flees from the merciless Cylons and struggles to find a new home in the depths of space. The set includes all of the show’s most popular characters: the brilliant-but-narcissistic-and-self-preserving Dr. Gaius Baltar, ever-evolving Viper pilot Kara “Starbuck” Thrace, President of the Colonies Laura Roslin and legendary military leader William Adama. Also included is a deadly Cylon Centurion and the infamous Cylon Raider “Scar.”

Pre-order the Battlestar Galactica Collection at Entertainment Earth and Forbidden Planet.

I would honestly love to see another collection focused on Battlestar Galactica, since it is another franchise that has an immense and rich cannon. Hopefully, if a second collection is done, we see it on store shelves quicker than the first collection!

My predictions: With a new year in front of us, we know that there are going to be some amazing collections coming from our friends at TITAN Merchandise. I know that they will show off some amazing convention exclusive figures at San Diego Comic Con and New York Comic Con late next year, so until then, here are some of my predictions:

Cartoon Network 2 (focusing on Classic Cartoons/characters)

Another big named franchise (Marvel, Star Wars, etc.)

Torchwood

Outlander

The Boondock Saints (Yea, I know… I say it all the time!).

Let us know in the comments what TV show/Movie/Pop Culture collection you would like to see TITAN Merchandise announce and release in 2017!
