Hello and welcome to Flashback Friday. Each week I’ll be bringing you a brand new article on a related Pop or Dorbz that’s connected to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Anything film or television related is fair game. I’ll be doing a short review and then moving on to my thoughts on the piece and series.

Today we’ll be going back to the 1940s and introducing one of the founding members of the Strategic Scientific Reserve (S.S.R.) which would later lead to the creation of the Strategic Homeland Intervention Enforcement and Logistics Division known as S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Peggy Carter played by the amazing Hayley Atwell was first seen by MCU fans in the Captain America: The First Avenger film. She’s a trained fighter and a highly capable agent who also happens to fall in love with Steve Rodgers. Following the events of Captain America: The First Avenger she constructs the S.S.R. with Howard Stark during a Marvel One Shot which is included on the Iron Man 3 Blu-ray. During her brief time in the MCU films she garnered a devoted fan base which eventually led to Disney greenlighting the Agent Carter TV series which aired for two seasons during 2015 and 2016.

The Agent Carter Pop in today’s flashback is numbered 96 and is part of the Agent Carter line of Pops. Surprisingly, she’s the only character in this line with two more variations. This Pop showcases her signature red hat and blue dress which can be seen all throughout the marketing materials for the TV show. The Pop truly captures the look and design of Agent Carter from the TV series. The only complaint that I have is that this Pop along with a few others is very top heavy. By giving her small legs with no platform to stand on she tends to tip over unless she’s leaning against something. This happens with the other two Agent Carter Pops as well. I’m hoping in the future the Agent Carter line of Pops expands to include more characters from the show resembling Howard Stark and Jarvis and additional Agent Carter variations.

If you’re interested in owning this Agent Carter Pop Figure then you are in luck. She can be purchased for a relatively low $5.00 and up to retail around $10.00 depending on where you shop. I’ve personally only ever seen this Pop in Hot Topic and Barnes and Noble. You might be a little hard pressed to find Agent Carter in stores but not to fear. Amazon and eBay do exist and you will definitely be able to pick her up on one of those sites. As always please check out our Facebook group which can be found here https://facebook.com/groups/funkopopvinyltrade for all of your collection necessities. One last note before we close out this week’s column. Hayley Atwell’s new TV series Conviction just got cancelled this week at ABC which means there’s a shot that the studio brings back Agent Carter for a third season. That also means more chances for additional Agent Carter Pops and additional Funko products. Agent Carter Dorbz anyone?

If you’d like to see any specific MCU Pops or Dorbz featured in future Flashback Friday columns please drop us a comment below.

Until next time have a great weekend and happy Funko hunting.

I've been an avid Pop MCU collector for the last few years. I've recently focused my collection on Captain America Funko products since he's my favorite Marvel superhero. I've also been collecting and playing the Pokémon Trading Card game for the last decade. I also run and judge events. I'm into Marvel, DC, Pokémon, Disney, The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, and WWE.
