Over the past few weeks, I have had the privilege to travel to both of the Disney Theme Park resorts here in the US, first to Walt Disney World in conjunction with GeekyCon, and then Disneyland while over in California for D23 Expo. While visiting the parks, I brought with me a few Pop! Vinyls and Mystery Minis for my traditional photo shoots (though admittedly, not as many characters as I usually due… suitcase space was an issue this go around). Enjoy!
Walt Disney World
First up is Florida (where I also visited The Wizarding World of Harry Potter) and Walt Disney World. Here we find Princess Ariel (in human form) visiting Prince Eric’s castle, and then her grotto, at the Magic Kingdom in New Fantasyland.
Then the Disney Heroes vs. Villains Ursula and Ariel went tentacle to fin in and around the area, home to Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid.
Over at the other end of New Fantasyland, Mother Gothel and Rapunzel squared off at the base of Rapunzel’s tower.
Over in Adventureland, Jasmine took on Jafar in front of the Magic Carpets of Aladdin.
While in Tomorrowland, Jumba scuffled with Experiment 626.
Afterwards, Experiment 626 got some time with Stitch over at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
Over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Simba and Scar took each other on in from of the Harambe Theatre, home of The Festival of the Lion King.
At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Marshmallow and Anna faced off while DJ Chill spun tunes during the Frozen Summer Fun event.
Of course, a break was needed to enjoy an Olaf Carrot Cupcake.
Disneyland
Then comes California, as I visited Disneyland in conjunction with the D23 Expo 2015. While there, I found Captain Hook and Peter Pan battling it out in the middle of Fantasyland on The Sword in the Stone.
Over in Tomorrowland, characters from the recent movie of the same name (Frank Walker, Young Frank Walker, and David Nix) got together in front of the Astro Orbiter and the entrance to Tomorrowland.
Finally, in front of Sleeping Beauty’s Castle, all decked out for the 60th Anniversary Diamond Celebration, Princess Aurora had a semi-private shoot, as the area was closed down in preperation of that evening’s fireworks.
That about wraps it up for this photo shoot. I would like to again thank all of the cast members who allow me to take the pictures, which at times can hold up traffic, etc. In addition to being ok with me taking the pictures, they at times get generally excited about the fact that the park is being used as a backdrop for the photos.
Hopefully come January, when I head back down to Walt Disney World for the WDW Marathon Weekend, I will be able to bring more Funko products down for another fun photo shoot….. CARS, Tangled, Princess and the Frog, Mulan… so much to look forward to.
