Today, I check out one of Funko’s releases this year in their Fantastik Plastik Pop! line. Created by Funko collector Chris Raimo, it was one of the winners of the “Design the Next Fantastik Plastik” Contest. Here is Trader Grim.
While I am not a huge collector of the Fantastik Plastik line, I had to have this Pop! Vinyl. I have a growing tiki mug collection, and this little guy adds a nice whimsy to it. Additionally, I can’t help but notice how he bears a bit of a homage to one of my favorite Disney Parks characters, Trader Sam, complete with the holding of the shrunken head. It really is a fun sculpt, and I thank Chris for submitting this design for the contest.
While he is no longer available on Funko’s online shop, you might be able to find him on secondary sale sites like eBay or Mercari.
