Kingdom Hearts III was finally released on January 29th, and to coincide with release Target released their exclusive variant of the Monsters Inc. Sora. This variant features the orange version of Sora from the Monsters Inc. world. Sora turns this color when he uses his Keyblades power in the game. Today we will take a look at this Pop! and see if he is a good addition to the Kingdom Hearts line.
Packaging 4/5
With the release of the Kingdom Hearts III wave we get a new overall design of the boxes for the Kingdom Hearts line. It’s nice every once in awhile to get an updated design as the same design over multiple releases gets old as time goes on. The back shows the regular releases in the Kingdom Hearts III wave.
Sculpt 5/5
The sculpt is pretty spot on to the game design. The details are really incredible. Especially on the Keyblade.
The attention to detail on the Keyblade is nicely done. It looks like it was pulled right from the game. The little Boo in her monster costume is one of the highlights and you wouldn’t even know it was there if you left Sora in the box.
The sculpt of the fur is a nice touch as well. All the details of Sora’s hoodie have been nicely sculpted as well. Another plus is he can stand on his own without falling over. This was a big problem I had with the Hot Topic Christmas Town Sora and he even had a stand to help him stay upright.
Paint 4/5
The paint is pretty good on Sora, but as with all Funko releases if you have the chance to look through a couple do so. I wasn’t able to as I got the last one my Target had. Luckily there was no problems on the one I found.
The colors are accurate to the game. The orange is nice and vibrant and helps Sora stand out on the shelf. The Keyblade is nicely painted also. The Monsters Inc. hard hat has a nice glossy finish and the Monsters Inc. logo is nicely done at the scale.
Overall 4.5/5
Sora is great addition to any Kingdom Hearts, Disney or Monsters Inc. collection. If you can track one down I highly recommend it. He fits in nicely with the previously released Monsters Inc. Pops.
