For today’s review, I take a look at the 2018 Spirit Halloween exclusive release of the Sanderson Sisters Funko Pop! Vinyls from the classic Halloween movie Hocus Pocus. Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the movie’s release in 1993, this three Pop! set features Winifred Sanderson (Bette Midler) and her two sisters, Sarah and Mary (Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy), as they get ready to steal the lives of children in Salem, Massachusetts and live forever.
Towards the end of the film, the Sanderson Sisters depart their house, now a museum, to try and locate a child before sunrise. Having previously lost their brooms to some Halloween Trick or Treaters, they instead utilize household products from the museum’s closet. Winifred finds a common household broom, while Sarah chooses a mop. Left with nothing else, Mary grabs the vacuum cleaner. With Winifred armed with the potion, they are off.
Aside from Sarah being a little lopsided due to her mop, I really like these sculpts. I have been a fan of this movie ever since it came out in theaters. I am so happy to see a resurgence in their popularity, especially seeing Walt Disney World embracing them and bringing them into their Halloween festivities by making them the center of the castle stage show during the annual Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party.
