Flashback Friday – Black Widow

Welcome to Flashback Friday where I discuss pops from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Anything pop related to the MCU is up for discussion including films and television series. Let’s jump right in with this week’s discussion. Black Widow from the Avengers: Age of Ultron set is this week’s featured MCU Pop.

Discussion: I thought Black Widow would be a good character to feature because it was just revealed this week that Scarlet Johannsson will be netting a $15 million dollar payday for the upcoming Black Widow film for the MCU. Black Widow had the importance of her role increased from Avengers to Avengers: Age of Ultron. She’s a big reason that Vision didn’t fall into Ultron’s hands along with Hawkeye. Between films she developed a relationship with Bruce Banner and helped him control the Hulk. And what’s pretty cool is a sequence where Captain America is fighting Ultron and he loses his shield. Black Widow ends up finding it and holding onto it until she can return it to Captain America. As the MCU has expanded so has Natasha’s role which is great to see. She’s an important character and I’m happy they are treating her as such.

Anyone who’s been reading my articles over the years knows that I’m a huge Captain America fan. So anytime another character gets a scene with Cap’s shield such as in Avengers: Age of Ultron and Captain America: Civil War I get really excited. That’s probably why this is my favorite version of Black Widow. Not only is she holding Cap’s shield but it makes her design look even more awesome. I definitely have this Pop in my collection for obvious reasons and you can too! Here’s what you need to know. This is a GameStop exclusive from 2015. Looking at average prices it’s been falling between $15.00 and $20.00. That’s the price range you should be looking for. It’s a great addition to any collection but I wouldn’t wait on it. It should only continue to increase so get it while the getting is good.
