This past weekend, Disney/ Pixar’s The Incredibles 2 absolutely shattered the box office record for opening weekend of an animated movie. Today, I take a look at the initial releases of this movie’s Pop! collection, as well as one of the exclusives.
In this review, I include the regular releases of Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, Violet (not the Chase), Dash, Jack-Jack, Underminer, Screenslaver, and Frozone. Additionally, I include a look at Monster Jack-Jack, which was a Funko Shop exclusive.
Also currently available are Violet’s Chase (Invisible Violet), Target exclusive Elastigirl (in old/new costume), Hot Topic exclusive Jack-Jack (Metallic), and Target exclusive Jack-Jack (Fire). Additionally, a Pop! Ride featuring the Elasticycle was announced earlier this week.
Let’s take a closer look at these releases.
Mr. Incredible
Elastigirl
Dash
Violet
Jack- Jack
Underminer
Screenslaver
Frozone
Monster Jack- Jack
For me, the three standouts in this collection (so far) are Underminer, Frozone, and Monster Jack-Jack. My Violet had a hard time staying upright, even with the base. All of the others seemed to do pretty well with and without the stands.
Recently, the Parr family and Frozone took a visit to Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom and posed for a group photo in front of Cinderella’s Castle. While it was a hot day, they had fun.
And of course, Jack-Jack needed to try a Dole Whip Pineapple Upside-down Cake.
Overall, this is a great start to this movie’s collection, but Funko has to have additional releases. No spoilers, but there is a plethora of characters that I would love to see in Pop! form after watching this movie.
“My Violet had a hard time staying upright”
Funko’s had quite the issues with women in recent years. Off the top of my head, The Bride from Kill Bill, Psylocke, and Leela have all had issues standing up for me.
I agree. I feel that if the hole on the foot of my Violet and the stud on the stand had a better connection, she might stand properly. However, she is very top heavy regardless.
