Welcome to Flashback Friday where I discuss pops from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Anything pop related to the MCU is up for discussion including films and television series. Let’s jump right in with this week’s discussion. Okoye from the Black Panther set is this week’s featured MCU Pop.
Discussion: Okoye was first introduced in Black Panther only a few short months ago. Almost immediately she became a fan favorite. She’s a legit force of nature and everything about the character is fantastic. She’s the fiercest warrior in all of Wakanda and the audience knows that right from the start. Her loyalty is to her country but she fights beside Black Panther when things get out of control. You have to respect her and what she stands for. I could go on and on about how awesome the character is but I don’t want to bore you. Danai Gurira really brings the character to life and is probably the standout character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe this year. If you haven’t seen Black Panther yet you really need to get to the theater because it’s fantastic.
It should come as no surprise that Okoye is a very popular character. Her one and only Pop so far is an exclusive to Funko Shop. As far as I’m aware it’s been sold out for sometime. This one is going to be difficult to add to your collection for a reasonable price unfortunately. A quick search of eBay sold listings and yeah be prepared to drop some serious funds. The cheapest ones are selling for right around $70.00 and on the high end she’s pushing $100.00. Looking at the prices I definitely should’ve picked one up when she first got released. I’m really kicking myself now because after watching Avengers: Infinity War I’m an even bigger fan. You may be able to find a better deal in our Facebook group whether you’re in the market to buy or trade.
