Few directors have had a bigger impact on cinema in the past twenty years than Quentin Tarantino, who will be directing a new Star Trek film in the near future. I recently picked up a Pop depicting the lead character from his most recent movie, The Hateful Eight.
This figure showcases Civil War soldier turned bounty hunter Major Marquis Warren, played by Samuel L. Jackson. This Pop’s greatest strength is definitely the impressive sculpt, from the hair and detailed revolvers to the small scarves and tassels in the costume. I’m also glad they decided to include the hat, and its brim is not so wide as to cover the figure’s face. The biggest drawback of this figure is that its paintwork has some chinks, especially around the beard, and I wish they had included the bright yellow stripes on the front of the jacket. Despite a couple of small flaws, however, this is a very well-designed figure and a great purchase for any fan of Tarantino’s work. Now we sit back and wait for Reservoir Dogs Pops!
