Welcome to Flashback Friday where I discuss pops from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Anything pop related to the MCU is up for discussion including films and television series. Let’s jump right in with this week’s discussion which was chosen by me since no one correctly answered last week’s trivia from Guardians of the Galaxy. This week we jump back to Avengers: Age of Ultron and look at the one and only Black Widow.
Discussion: Black Widow plays a huge role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She’s appeared in Iron Man 2, Marvel’s Avengers, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Captain America: Civil War. In Age of Ultron Black Widow has a budding relationship with Bruce Banner. It becomes apparent that she’s able to settle the Hulk down enough so he can transform back into Bruce Banner. She also plays an integral role in taking Vision from Ultron with the help of Hawkeye which leads into Vision joining the Avengers to go on and defeat Ultron. Black Widow is definitely part of my collection and she’s proudly displayed on my desk with the rest of the Avengers.
There are two Black Widow pops from the Age of Ultron set. This one she’s holding Captain America’s shield which is from the scene where he’s fighting Ultron and his shield gets knocked out of his hand. She’s riding a motorcycle and picks it up off the ground and gets it back to Cap. I’ve noticed that when other characters hold Cap’s shield it kind of becomes an iconic image. So far, we’ve seen pops with Black Widow and Spider-Man holding the shield. I’m very surprised that we don’t a Winter Soldier pop holding Cap’s shield because that was a great moment in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. If you’re interested in adding this pop to your collection you should check out our Facebook group which can be found here. You can buy, sell, and trade all of your Funko related products.
Black Widow is very reasonably priced. Even after being available for a few years you can still find it for original retail value. It goes between $8.00 and $12.00 on most online sources. You can find it on eBay, Amazon, or our Facebook group. If you’re a fan of Black Widow I’d search out both of them from the Age of Ultron set and add them to your collection. Don’t forget to check out the trivia below and you may get to choose next week’s pop.
Trivia: Welcome to the trivia section. Be the first to comment with the correct answers to both questions and you get to choose next week’s pop. You must chose an MCU pop that has yet to be featured in the Flashback Friday series. This week’s questions will come from Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Q1: How much screen times does Black Widow have in Avengers: Age of Ultron?
Q2: What was the working title of the film?
I hope you enjoyed this week’s article. Please check back next week for a brand new Flashback Friday and as always Excelsior!
Q1: 33:07
Q2: After Party
Will I be able to pick Stan Lee as next week’s POP!
Congrats!! You can pick Stan Lee as along as he’s related to the Marvel Cinematic Universe such as three coming out that were reported on a few weeks ago for the films Captain America: The First Avenger, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and Guardians of the Galaxy.
Sweet!!!! THANKS 🙂
Let me know which one you want to do so I can get started on it.
I would like the one from Captain America: The first Avenger!
