For today’s Pop! Review, I look at two of the newest The Nightmare Before Christmas (NBX) exclusive Pop! Vinyls from Funko. Recently released, Dapper Sally (a followup to Dapper Jack Skellington) can be found at Hot Topic stores, while Zero with Bone (who also comes with a Glow-in-the-Dark Chase, not reviewed here) can be found at Box Lunch stores.
I decided to review both of these exclusives together because not only are they both part of the NBX line (part of the Disney line as a whole), but Hot Topic is the parent company of Box Lunch. With Hot Topic being known for the NBX exclusives (from not only Funko but other companies as well), it was not surprising that Box Lunch got into the exclusive game as well.
With these two exclusives, one is based directly off the film, and the other is not. Dapper Sally was never seen in the movie, but rather the design, I believe, originated back in 2016 with the release of some Enesco Disney Showcase statues. Last holiday season, Hot Topic released a Funko version of the Dapper Jack Skellington design, so it was only a matter of time before we got a Dapper Sally to go with him.
Zero with Bone, on the other hand, is directly from the scene in the movie where Jack plays fetch with Zero, using one of his rib bones, while taking a walk to think about things… where he stumbles upon the doors to the other holidays and, ultimately, Christmastown.
Being that I have a pretty decent sized collection of NBX items, and given that I try to collect most of the Disney Funko items, I am happy these two pieces are part of my collection. While Sally was found at my local Hot Topic, a friend of mine helped me to obtain Zero. Dapper Sally is currently available on the Hot Topic website, but Zero is currently not on the Box Lunch site. He, as well as his Chase, might be available in stores still.
