Earlier in the month, we finally got the highly anticipated sequel to Guardians of the Galaxy, and with it came an even more highly anticipated wave of Pop Vinyls! Here I will review the new Pop of the leader of the Guardians, Star-Lord.
When images of the new Pops first surfaced online, I was hoping to be able to find the masked Star-Lord chase figure, but when I saw them in person I realized that I really liked the standard unmasked version. The facial expression looks really good with one raised eyebrow. The body also looks really nice, and the details on the jacket and pants are very intricate. The guns have a bunch of small areas of accented colors, but they are all very well painted, which impressed me. The pose is also great.
If I had to come up with one criticism of this Pop, I would say that it’s not particularly creative. It would look even better with a jetpack effect like the Rocket Pop has, or if Peter were using his Celestial powers with some sort of blue enrgy effect. However, I’m still happy with it overall, and I think it’s definitely an improvement on the old Star-Lord Pop.
