With summer rapidly approaching, superhero fans are getting ready for a slate of new comic book movies, the first one being Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2, which comes out in only two weeks. This film is the basis of April’s Marvel Collector Corps box, so here is a rundown of the box’s contents.
First up come the patch and pin, featuring Star Lord and Gamora.
The featured comic is Secret Empire #0, the first installment in an event which will reveal the truth behind Captain America’s secret allegiance to Hydra. I was actually planning on buying this book at my local comic store, so thank you to MCC for saving me four dollars!
The t-shirt has a great design featuring the team’s newly expanded roster including Yondu and Mantis.
MCC revealed the POP a couple of weeks ago, but that definitely did not make it any less awesome. It depicts Rocket and Baby Groot in the form of a bobblehead attached to a bobblehead. The design is adorable and the galaxy pattern on the box looks great, so this may end up being one of the few POPs that I keep boxed.
The final item in the box somehow managed to top the amazing POP–– a Dorbz Ridez set featuring Star Lord in his spaceship the Milano. Everything about this piece is great, from the coloring to the details of the ship’s engines and wings. I’m also happy to see a new Star Lord Dorbz, since none based on this film were made available for general release.
In my opinion, this is MCC’s best box of the year, and even among their best boxes, period. Next month’s theme is Spider-Man: Homecoming, so make sure to get your orders in before June 15.
