Add another Guardians of the Galaxy character to the growing Funko collection. Ego will appear in Pop and Dorbz form.
In the comics he is known as Ego the Living Planet. In the movie he’ll be portrayed by Kurt Russell. And in the movie, Ego will be Star-Lord’s father. From the designs above, he doesn’t look like a planet so what is going on?
This is what Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn had to say about that:
“Yeah, [Star-Lord’s] dad is a planet… Sort of,” James Gunn started. “It will all be explained in the film. But to me, this is the absolute center of Vol. 2, and one of the reasons I’ve been so excited about it.”
My faith in James Gunn is strong so I’ll accept his answer. How do you think Ego will fit into the sequel?
