For the Black Friday shopping season here in the US, multiple stores put out exclusive Funko “Mystery” Boxes. While there was very little mystery around what was included in some of them, a couple of them had a nice theme surrounding it. One of these Black Friday boxes was released last week at Hot Topic stores and on Hot Topic online. Themed after Nightmare Before Christmas, included in the box was an exclusive Pop! Vinyl, Dorbz, and Pop! Keychain. Let’s take a closer look at the contents of the box, as well as the newest Hot Topic exclusive Pop! Vinyl: Dapper Jack Skellington.

For the MSRP of $24.50, each box contained a new Pop! version of Oogie Boogie, a Glow in the Dark Jack Skellington Dorbz, and a Glow in the Dark Sally Pocket Pop! Keychain. All three exclusive to Hot Topic in this Mystery Box.

Oogie Boogie with Bugs Pop! Vinyl (Disney 230)

This was the reason I purchased the Mystery Box, as I am not a collector of the Dorbz or the Keychains. I like that this is not just a new Oogie Boogie, but an entire new mold from the original Oogie.

Since this Dorbz is not going into my collection, I am keeping him in his packaging so he can travel safely to his new home. I do love the expression of Jack in this Dorbz, like he found Christmastown for the first time.

Same with the Dorbz, Sally is remaining in packaging, but I like how she looks in Keychain form.

A rare departure from “canon” characters in the Disney line, Dapper Jack Skellington shows off our favorite skeleton from NBX all decked out for a ghoulishly bad time, perhaps at a Halloween themed Dapper Day at one of the Disney Parks.

I really like this version of Jack, so much that he will be a permanent addition to my Christmas decor in my apartment.
