Freddy’s Family Just Got A “Little” Bit Bigger.

In 2015 Funko introduced the wonderful line of Dorbz to the world, and funatics everywhere flipped out. Ever since they were released, the new line has hastily been gaining steam. With so many possibilities left there is still so much ground to cover! 1 Year Later We’ve gotten Rides, Marvel, DC, and a slew of other major contenders to add to our vastly growing list of characters, movies, and shows. But when it comes to Funko, who better to lead the march than the company mascot himself, Freddy Funko!

We got our first look at Funko’s Mascot in Dorbz form earlier this year at Emerald City Comic Con (ECCC), as a pint size version of his former Funko predecessors, rockin’ an emerald green Comic Con shirt and his signature crown, as Freddy does.

Since ECCC, the Dorbz line, as well as it’s fan base has continued to grow, along with the introduction of 3 new Freddy figures. Unlike The original convention release, the latest editions to the club have all come as exclusives available only online at Funko’s own online store, the Funko-Shop, where every Wednesday they release a new exclusive available for Funatics to get their hands on.

On Monday, Funko fans had a chance to peak into the future, as NYCC draws closer. That’s right, the previews have started back up as the 2016 convention season continues. In the first wave fans were lucky to see some awesome items, but one in particular really stood out! Freddy will be returning to Comic Con once again, but this time, he will be garnishing a new logo. The newest addition to Funko’s Freddy family will be wearing the Famous I <3 NYC Logo ,created by Milton Glaser, on his shirt, holding a Freddy version of the Statue of Liberty. 

With Dorbz quick rise in popularity, one can only imagine what’s yet to come. There are still so many variations in texture and finish that have yet to be seen. As people continue to go crazy over the new line, and interest continues to rise, Funko is sure to throw a few more curve balls our way. I know I personally can’t wait to get my hands on my first “Crystal Freddy Dorbz”. What about you?
