Welcome to Flashback Friday: The MCU. In this series you’ll get a review and discussion on some of your favorite Pops and Dorbz from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Here, we really appreciate the shared universe so the figures will come from film, television, and streaming. Today I’ll be discussing the most expensive MCU Pop in existence and if you aren’t aware of the price your jaw might drop. Please welcome the God of Mischief Loki.
Loki is numbered 16 in the Marvel Pop Series and comes from the Avengers set. The set includes our first Flashback Friday Pop Captain America, Hulk, Iron Man, Nick Fury, and Thor. The Avengers set was released way back in 2012, the same year The Avengers stormed the box office and became one of the highest grossing films worldwide and currently sits in the top 5 all time. The popularity of the Avengers soared to new heights which is why the Avengers pops were so sought after. A few months after the film was released fans hit San Diego Comic Con and came to find out there is a limited edition gold version of Loki from the film. Loki is an LE 480 which made it even more difficult to get. Check out the image below.
Loki is sporting his gold helmet from the Avengers film and it looks great. The mold and design look very similar to what see on screen. The costume looks pretty good. The dark pants are very similar to what’s shown in the film. The pants on the Pop look black but in the movie they are a darker green. The top has a very intricate gold design which is not shown in the film. It looks like the design was created solely for this limited edition pop vinyl. Overall, I think the piece looks fantastic and I would love to add it to my collection. How can you obtain Loki you ask? Let’s find out.
The only way to obtain this very exclusive Loki pop vinyl is to purchase or trade for it. I hope your wallets are deep because this one is going to cost a pretty penny. Looking at recent eBay listings over the last few months we find that on the high end this pop has sold for $1,250.00 and on the low end it sold for $690.00. The average looks to be around $800.00 so you better start saving now. Of course you may find someone willing to trade on our Facebook group which can be found here but be prepared because they’ll be looking for hard to find items.
Overall, this is a really solid Limited Edition Loki pop with good design choices and is a great addition to any collection if you’re lucky enough to get ahold of one.
