In the next few weeks, a set that I have been excited about since Toy Fair is being released… the DC Comic Lil Bombshells Vinyl Mystery Figures from Cryptozoic Entertainment. Well known for their trading card and board games, Cryptozoic is branching out more and more into other collectible lines. With the Lil Bombshells, they hit a home run.

Based off the pinup artwork back in the World War II era, the Lil Bombshells features some of the well known DC heroines and female villains. The set, consisting of twelve figures (ten regular and two chaser), includes the likes of Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Poison Ivy, and Batgirl. Each figure comes wrapped in a clear baggie inside an individually shrink-wrapped tin.

Prior to their release, Cryptozoic sent over a few of the blind boxed tins for me to open and take a look at. While I did not get my top three, the three I did get are pretty awesome: Poison Ivy, Hawkgirl, and Batwoman.

Here is a closer look at each of the figures, whose height checks in at just under 3″ tall each.

Overall, I love the way that these look. For being under 3″ tall, they still have a lot of great details, and capture the iconic look of each of the characters in that time period beautifully. And at a SRP of about $9.99 each, there are in the same ballpark with other mini figure blind packs.

Want to add these Lil Bombshells to your collection? Our friends over at Entertainment Earth have them available in either a case of 12 (assuming you get one of each design) or a mystery pack of 4. There will be a full retail wide release for these after San Diego Comic Con, with a limited pre-release happening at the convention, according to Cryptozoic. However, word from some of my friends in the Midwest is that some Walmarts have seen an accidental release of these on store shelves early. Not sure if that was a fluke or intentional, but they might already be out in some locations already. If you see them, grab them. They are worth the cost to collect, and I haven’t said that about a blind pack set in a while.

Want to see what one of the full sized figures in the line look like? A while back, I reviewed the Noir Harley Quinn, which will be a Barnes & Noble exclusive this summer, presumably around San Diego Comic Con. Again, great design and details. I have a feeling this line will be very popular.
