The second installment of Michael Bays’ Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise will debut in theaters this Friday, June 3rd, in the U.S. While these dorbz, and all of Funko’s TMNT products actually, are based off of the Nickelodeon animated series that currently airs, the turtles are timeless and should be celebrated whenever applicable! Let’s dive in and talk about these dorbz!First up, we have Leonardo. Pictured without weapons, he’s simply standing there and smiling in his blue mask – but that’s what’s so great about dorbz, they don’t need to be elaborate to be amazing. The ninja turtles are pretty uniform between the four of them, with even the pops only differing in color and what type of mouth they were given, but these dorbz are just simple enough to knock it out of the park. I prefer these dorbz to the TMNT pops to be honest, so that’s why I had to go pick them up. So precious.
Next, we have Raphael. Identical to Raphael, except he has two daggers tucked into his belt and his red mask. Again, just simple enough to be adorable. Dorbz don’t have to try too hard, and I love that.
Weaponless, we have Donatello next. His purple mask in tow, his figure is also identical to the others in sculpt. But, it’s so darn cute.
Finally, we have Michaelangelo. Another uniform figure, he has a pair of nunchucks tucked into his belt and my favorite color, orange, for his mask. He’s my favorite for his personality, and his dorbz figure is no different. Perfection.
Onto some different sculpts, next we have Bebop. This overly-cutified version of the turtles’ nemesis, Bebop is seen sporting his purple mohawk, nose ring, tusks, standard outfit, and turtle shell shoulder pads. This figure has the detail going on. Funko went all out tricking this guy up and the resulting figure is awesome!
Lastly, we have Rocksteady. Another thorn in the turtles’ side, Rocksteady is seen with his signature binocular/hat and outfit, but is smiling on the sides of his horn. I really like that detail, it’s very specific to dorbz. Funko did a great job with his expression and I’m excited to see where dorbz continue to go.
Those are the six TMNT dorbz Funko has given us so far! Of course they could expand the line with Splinter and Shredder, but I would love to see a larger scale Funko figure of Casey Jones, his only Funko rendition being a mystery mini. I think a dorbz or pop of that character would be amazing. Pick up these dorbz to up the chances of Funko expanding this line!
