***Editor Note- This article is written by Funko Trading member Chris Boulos and he’s thoroughly covering this new app. Thanks for the article, Chris!***
If you remember during Toy Fair 2016 Funko showcased many new lines including the MyMoji emoticon figures. Well it looks like the app that will handle all these great Emoji’s has landed!
The name of the app is “Quidd” and can be currently found in the Apple App store. With the app you can get packs of MyMoji’s that are currently free which give you access to different characters from the DC Universe, Five Nights at Freddy’s, Ghostbusters, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Minions. Each set has a theme ranging from happy, angry, sly, etc.. and within those sets you have a chance to pull different characters.
Maybe you didn’t get the emoji you wanted or pulled doubles out of your free packs, no need to worry because theres a trading system built right into the app! You can post emojis you’re looking for or extras you want to get rid of and set up trades with other members! They can see what you need and you can see what they need, put your offers up and once you both hit accept trade you’re now closer to completing a set! You can add friends, send messages through the app, and add your own profile picture.
There also seems to be some kind of coin system in place for what looks like future emoji purchases once things stop being free or possibly exclusive emoji’s which the app hints at. When I joined I automatically received about 5,350 coins and every couple of hours you get 50 free coins with options to get more by doing various tasks.
Last but not least we all know how Funko fans love their exclusives, if you look at the two screenshots below it looks like the emojis have limited editions in each set ranging from 1st editions to 3rd. Your specific MyMoji will show you what edition number it is along with the print number so you can see how rare your pulls are and try to trade for better ones.
Once you’re done trading and opening packs it’s time to use these bad boys in a convo! You just enable the Quidd keyboard on your iOS device switch to it while texting and tap the MyMoji you want to use! It copies it to your clipboard then you just hit paste in your chat box and it’s ready to send! The app has yet to show up on android phones yet but as with most apps i’m sure it’ll launch on that platform in the near future!
