What side are you on? The dark or the light? These are the questions! And oh my stars… the planets have aligned and The Highlight is being brought to you on a Thursday Night! Throwback Thursday! This is my weekly column showing you some of my best photos of the week and giving you a little insight as to why I selected these and what the thought process was in making them… Sometimes not much. So be it! First and foremost some of you may have noticed earlier this week my Facebook page vanished! Yikes! Facebook deactivated my Eddie’s Toy Box facebook because I guess it wasn’t my real name and you can only have one account and… there ya go! But fear not! I’ve recreated the Eddie’s Toy Box fan page the correct way and if you want to you can like it once more over on Facebook. Same name. Eddie’s Toy Box. But, let’s get with the rest of the photos!
“Mondays have us all a little mad.”
Cheshire Cat mystery mini (Hot Topic Exclusive) from the Alice Through the Looking Glass mystery minis. Well, on Mondays a famous hash tag in the Funko community is MysteryMiniMonday. So, in order to celebrate that, but also give away the displeasure that is Mondays I went with the Cheshire Cat. This picture was actually taken at a Zoo out of town this past weekend. Any of you out there take your Funko products on the road with you? In the beginning I didn’t like to take photos like this because I always thought others would frown upon it, but now… I don’t care much really. So Mondays make us all a little mad, but Funko photography can always turn that around!
“Care for some tea?”
The Mad Hatter from the Pop! Disney Alice in Wonderland series. I actually used this photo to relaunch my Facebook page this week because it’s one of my favorites. I found a tree that was split in two right down the middle and placed the Hatter right in the center of it. Then with the benefit of some editing I added in the galaxy layer up top giving it an out of this world look. Combine that with my love for Johnny Depp and you have one of my favorite photos this year. I also did it at the weird angle for effect. Not sure if it came off that way though.
“Spoiler Alert. I totally save the day and tell these two their childhood pets had the same name. Then I high five Ironman because Team Ironman obvs.”
Captain America and Ironman from the Pop! Marvel Captain America Civil War series. Marvel Collector Corps exclusive! Okay so by now you’ve seen these Pops. You’ve had to! They’ve been posted everywhere so the real spoiler alert would be that. I assure you I’m not going to pop up in Civil War so the spoiler alert here is just for kicks. That’d be super cool though if I did, but I’m not. It’s been awhile since I’ve incorporated myself into a photo, but when I saw these guys the idea immediately came to me. Throwing on the Collector Corps shirt was just an added bonus. Which side are you on? I’m Team Ironman. Don’t know why. Maybe it’s because RDJ is so awesome. Can’t wait for this movie!
