Independence Day debuted in theaters  on July 3, 1996 which was the summer before my senior year in college. The theater was packed with college kids and we cheered the entire movie and I’ve still never been in a theater with so many people cheering during an entire film.

Funko’s announcement of Independence Day Pop Vinyls  brought back the feelings of how much I loved that movie.  Today, Entertainment Earth sent me a set of 3 Pop Vinyls from Entertainment Earth to share with you.

Steve Hiller was portrayed by Will Smith and was the “star” of this ensemble cast. I love how the Pop even has his cigar in his hand. His uniform looks great as well.

David Levinson

id44 id45 id46David Levinson, portrayed by Jeff Goldblum, was the “smart” hero who helped figure out the hidden code in the aliens’ messages. He also somehow uploaded a virus to the mothership which I’m not exactly sure how that worked but hey, I’m not Jeff Freakin Goldblum so I give that a pass. idwandjeff

Alien

The Alien  from Independence Day has a chase piece. The chase has a ratio of 1 out of 6 so it’s not too hard to find while still giving you the thrill of the chase. Most chase lovers are ordering multiples from Entertainment Earth to give them better odds.

Here’s what the Alien chase piece looks like out of the box:

The chase is based on when the alien’s exoskeleton is opened. I don’t have a great photo from the movie but here’s one shot:

The chase, in my opinion, is awesome and one of rare chase pieces that has a different mold from the common.

Independence Day fans will be very happy with the quality and paint jobs on these. If you have not preordered yours yet, you can preorder them now from Entertainment Earth and they should be shipping by March at the latest.
