Anyone care for some eggs? No? Alright… What about a fresh new Thursday Night Highlight then? Hope the answer to that question was yes because here we go! Thursday Night Highlight is brought to you by the crazy mind of @Esbjo_Figs on Instagram, and Eddie’s Toy Box on Youtube… which I’m sure you are subscribed to already because even though I said I’d be posting reviews of things not Funko related those videos are few and far in between. I have to stop lying to myself and just admit I run a Funko based Youtube channel. Anyway… if you’re new here then welcome welcome! This is my weekly column where I showcase some of my favorite photos from my Instagram account and give you, the reader, a little insight as to why I’ve chosen these particular photos. That one up there? That’s the gimmie. I don’t have a header which… in hindsight would make more sense so I just give you another picture. That’s Eggs from The Boxtrolls movie in a carton of eggs in my fridge. Simple yet effective! Let’s get on with the rest of the photos shall we?

The Arrow and Deathstroke from the Pop! Television line/Arrow series. Alright guys if you know me then you know I purchase Pops for the sake of loving Pops and sometimes I have no idea what the license is. I’m not some guy on an island though I do know who the Green Arrow is. I just never saw the show before purchasing the Pops. I can safely say now though after binge watching the first three seasons in one week that I love it. It’s an awesome show and Deathstroke has to be one of my favorite TV villains. Just so calculating and cunning and down right awesome that I cannot wait until they release his unmasked version. So here we have The Arrow treading through the forest or an island maybe? When ol’ Deathstroke comes creeping along to keep his promise. You’ll have to watch the show to see what that is. Seriously do it. Not… right now though we still have two pictures to get through. “Sincerely Yours, The Breakfast Club.”
John Bender, Alison Reynolds, Andrew Clark, Claire Standish, and Brian Johnson from the Pop! Movies line / The Breakfast Club Series. Hot Topic Exclusive Pre-Release. So I wanted to recreate the image of the Breakfast Club up against the lockers which I’m pretty sure was the basis of these Pops to begin with. However with Alison being in a standing position and not sitting it made things rather difficult. And with the sizes of their heads it made things more difficult so I went with a good old fashion side by side shot. Then I had a lot of dead space above and below it so it hit me. With a movie as iconic as this (it is.) why not add the thing that made the movie so great? The essay. The end results were good because this became one of my top liked photos over on Funko Trading! So thank you guys! It’s always the photos I doubt the most that get the most reception… so odd.

Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust from the Pop! Disney / Inside Out Series. I love Sadness. Well… not actual sadness, but this Pop! Look at her! She’s probably one of my favorite Pops of the year just because she looks so awesome. I keep trying to think of new ideas to incorporate her into my shots and this one just hit me. She looks so sad what if all her buddies were going out without her? So I tried to create a blur effect around here to isolate her from the group and have them with their backs turned to her. The end result? That photo. Which I love! Trust me I feel bad for Sadness and some of you did too, but hey… that’s her MO right? She’s sad… But don’t worry. She’ll be alright. She’s resting on my kids shelf until I find another excuse for her and they love her too.
