Thursday Night Highlight. It’s that time again! And this week we’re taking a look at some of my favorite shots of the week that included the brand new Disney Pixar Inside Out Pops! I was lucky enough to pick these up at Barnes and Noble last week, and I got most of the set with the exception of Joy because I hear she isn’t being released until next month… for whatever reason that is. I don’t got that Joy Joy Joy Joy down in my heart… because she hasn’t been released yet. I just got that OCD-D-D-D in my brain telling me I need Joy or I’ll keep losing sleep! Anyway Thursday Night Highlight or T.N.H. as the kids are calling it on the streets, is brought to you as always by @Esbjo_Figs over on Instagram and Eddie’s Toy Box over on Youtube! The picture up there is the first of FOUR photos I’m going to show you this week revolving around the aforementioned Inside Out Pops! It’s the character FEAR and he’s surrounded by Walkers. Wouldn’t you be scared? Just made sense to me! On with the rest of the photos!
“Beavis and Butt-Head know no bounds.”
Disgust from the Pop! Disney line, and Beavis and Butt-head from the Pop! Television line. Okay so what we know about the movie Inside Out and these characters are that they are the emotions of a little girl named Riley. Now Disgust is that green girl up top and what better two characters to help bring that emotion out of her then Beavis and Butt-head? I tend to try to stay away from the word bubbles lately, but they had to be added here to get the message across. C’mon “Disgust us.” That’s classic Beavis material. Well classic Beavis material for this page, and my own. I’m sure they’d say a lot more if given the chance. Let’s move on!
“Where does Sadness hurt? Everywhere.”
Sadness from the Pop! Disney line. This Pop is one of my favorites from the series. She’s just so well made and looks so sad it’s perfect. Like Disgust up there… she looks more angry than disgusted, but Sadness here? With the blue tones and her facial expression and hands… nails it. So this was taken on a rainy day. That’s why she has water on her. She just looks to be in pain so all I could think about were those commercials about depression and where it hurts… and well it hurts everywhere! Don’t you just want to give this old blue gal a big hug!? No? Ah well. This was my favorite Inside Out photo of the week, but I’m putting it at number two because the next one got the most attention!
“Anger Management? Never Heard Of It.”
Anger from the Pop! Disney line and Hulk from the Pop! Marvel line. Don’t make them angry. You won’t like them when they’re angry! This photo right here I posted to my twitter account (@EddiesToyBox) and it got retweeted not only by Funko, but by the official Disney Pixar account for the movie Inside Out!! Talk about a great day and a dead cell phone battery! Retweeted by the two brands this photo represents. Okay in all fairness the Avengers twitter account could have retweeted it too, but they didn’t and I’m fine with that! You take two angry pops and the end result is awesomeness! Sure Funko said I needed Angry Groot in the mix, but he’s on preorder from toymatrix.com and maybe I’ll spice it up a bit when he gets here, but until then I’m content with these two angry guys! It’s crazy how some photos I take up to an hour or so creating, and one like this that took about ten minutes garners the most attention. Goes to show you that no matter how big or small you think your photo is there’s always someone out there that’s going to appreciate it. A review for Anger and Disgust can be found here:
