This picture is the embodiment of how I feel every Thursday when I walk the Popvinyls.com hallways. Well, if there were hallways and an actual building and we were in high school and I was John Bender. Anyway… You get what I’m trying to say right? I’m that cool kid that comes to school once a week, gives you a little something, then walks away until we meet again. Also… stay in school all week kids. Thursday Night Highlight! “Tangled in the Bronx.”
Mother Gothel vs. Rapunzel from the Disney Heroes vs. Villains mystery minis, both Hot Topic Exclusives. So since this is the versus mystery mini set I was trying to create a natural fight scene except I wanted it to take place inside the tower that housed the kidnapped Rapunzel for 18 years (right it was 18?). So the title is a play off of Rumble in the Bronx except Rumble is replaced with Tangled because when you get into an altercation you can…tangle…with someone. Right? That works. I think so. These mystery mediums are awesome by the way. Funko has really come a long way since their first set of mystery minis but one does beg to pose the question at what point do they change from mystery minis to ya know… Pops with greater details that come inside a cardboard box.
“Nature is… evolving.”
Groot from the Pop! Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy series. Confession time. My lawn mower broke at the end of Fall last year and I’ve yet to get a new one. So my backyard looks like a rainforest. No worries I’ll be getting a new one this weekend and it’ll be taken care of, but until then… can’t pass up an opportunity to take a picture of Groot amongst the grass and try to make it look like something else entirely. You didn’t know this was my backyard right? You thought this was like a legitimate rainforest? Fortunately, a good place like Appliance Hunter has guidelines on how to fix a lawn mower.
If you knew it was grass you must talk to my neighbor and if he asks you what I’m doing in the backyard all the time with these toys you better tell him I’m creating awesomeness. Anything else would be a lie! Alright… so yea I’m also saying “I Am Groot” a lot which doesn’t help the taking photos excuse, but that’s for me!
“The Beast Incarnate…Pop Lesnarrrrr!”
Brock Lesnar from the Pop! WWE line, also a Walmart exclusive. Finally! Finally I got my hands on Brock Lesnar and I didn’t have to take out a second mortgage on my house to do so. There are still awesome people out there that you can find on the Funko Trading by Popvinyls.com Facebook Group! That’s where I scored this little guy! Also, that belt is from the WWE Mattel line of action figures. Did not come with the Pop. Paul Heyman is also a WWE Mattel action figure, but what I’ve done here is I’ve taken a picture of Paul Heyman standing on the entrance stage and I added Brock Lesnar in later on to make him appear to be the same size as the Mattel figures tower over Pops because they’re actual action figures. So here comes the pain making his way down to the ramp as the undisputed, reigning, defending WWE World Heavyweight Champion! Love this Pop. You can check out my review of this pop here?
