Last month, we announced that PopVinyls.com and custom artists were coming together to raise money for Toys for Tots. You can read that article HERE but basically we will be auctioning off donated custom Pops in our VK Auction House to raise money for Toys for Tots. Artists who have committed to donate a piece will send their pieces to me by November 24th for a photo shoot and for the auctions to begin on December 1st. Today, I want to share with you our first 6″ donation by Emilie McBane. When the 6″ designs first came out everybody wanted to know when we’d see the first proper size Hulk. He’s hear and he’s all decorated for Christmas!
After receiving Deck the Hulk, I asked Emilie a few questions about this custom and being a custom artist.
What got you into making custom Pops?
I’ve done other custom vinyls before and have always loved the style of Pops, I’ve found that doing custom pops is just sort of an extension of what I had been doing before.
How long have you been making customs?
I’ve been doing custom vinyls off and on for 5-6 years but I’ve only been doing custom pops for a couple months.
What is the favorite custom you have made?
“Deck the Hulk” is probably my favorite pop custom I’ve made but out off all the platforms I worked on my favorite I’ve ever made was from a Munny, it has Mario getting hit by a fireball from a piranha plant
What was the inspiration for the piece you created for our Pops for Tots auctions?
When I read that there was going to be a Christmas theme my first thought was Hulk as a Christmas tree. I have never thought it was right that the hulk was the same size as the other avengers so I wanted to make him bigger. I decided to take a stay Puft marshmellow man since he was a 6in pop and finally make a hulk the size he should be.How can people see other customs of yours and commission their own?
