Last month, we announced that PopVinyls.com and custom artists were coming together to raise money for Toys for Tots. You can read that article HERE but basically we will be auctioning off donated custom Pops in our VK Auction House to raise money for Toys for Tots. Artists who have committed to donate a piece will send their pieces to me by November 24th for a photo shoot and for the auctions to begin on December 1st.
Today, I want to share with you another Doctor Who inspired Pop Vinyl. This time created by the Funko Trading admin, Linda Nunley. Just like Brenda Le’s Doctor, Linda’s snowman was inspired by the Christmas Special entitled “The Snowmen” and aired on Christmas Day 2012. Linda totally wowed me with her design and making this custom Glow in the Dark as well!
After receiving the custom, I asked Linda a few questions about this custom and being a custom artist.
What got you into making custom Pops?
I have a passion for art and crafts but after seeing some pretty amazing customizers (many of them on the Pops for Tots list) that is what inspired me to try my hand at it.
How long have you been making customs?
My custom for Pops for Tots is my first custom.
What is the favorite custom you have made?
So far since The Snowman is my first I will say I am really proud of how he turned out.
What was the inspiration for the piece you created for our Pops for Tots auctions?
I have loved watching Doctor Who forever and since this was Christmas themed, the first episode I thought of was the Christmas special with the 11th Doctor and Clara. I liked the snowmen and thought it would be a challenge to make.
How can people see other customs of yours and commission their own?
I don’t have a page yet but I hope to start one soon. In the meantime sending me a message is the best way to ask me questions.
*I would love to give a shout out to Mark Boyd. He is extremely generous and talented, he donated custom box for my piece.
Thank you so much Linda Nunley for your generous donation to our Pops for Tots Fundraiser Auctions! What an amazing custom and even more amazing that it’s your first one!
