In an effort to best prepare our readers and members of the Funko Trading Facebook group, one of our administrators, Lauren Britton, sat down with a store manager for Barnes and Noble today. Lauren asked the manager some of the burning questions that have been popping up in the group in attempts to give people the most accurate answers when heading out to Barnes and Noble tomorrow for SDCC exclusives!
Onto the questions!
Lauren: Can you tell me what time you will be opening tomorrow?
Manager: All Barnes and Noble stores that are participating in the event should open at 9AM. However, some stores may vary and open at 10AM. Please call your store for accurate information.
Lauren: So, we’ve been hearing a lot of rumors about limiting of Funko items to guests, can you please explain the limits? There have been rumors that it would be one Pop! per person!
Manager: There will be a limit enforced by every store. However, the rumor of one Pop! per person is incorrect. We will be enforcing a STRICT limit of ONE of each CHARACTER per person. If we have ten variations of Pop Vinyls (meaning 10 characters), each person will be allowed one of each character.
Lauren: Will stores be staggering the release of the Pops! In hopes that they last all weekend?
Manager: It was in an email from the company, that the event should not be staggered and each Barnes and Noble store should place all variations of items on the shelves to be sold at open on Thursday (9AM). However, some stores may put out all of their stock at 9AM or they may put 1 of each character out and constantly refresh the shelf …..This may be done so that the Funko products last through the day.
Lauren: Some stores have leaked their exclusives early, as in last night, can you confirm this should not be happening?
Manager: There were very strict rules set in place. I was told not to even open my boxes of Funko Pops until tonight, they are locked in my office until we close tonight!
Lauren: Can you tell me how many different Pop! figures will be available?
Manager: I can’t tell you how they are but I can say that there are somewhere between 10 and 15 exclusives that will be available tomorrow.
Lauren: Any hints on what they are?
Manager: All I am willing to say at this time is that Game of Thrones fans should makevsure they are at their Barnes by 9!
Lauren: Can you tell me how many Pop!s you have gotten?
Manager: I can tell you that we have at least 12 of each character we will be selling. Some we have received more than 12 and others, just 12. The characters that we have gotten 12 of, I expect won’t make it much past 10AM at our store.
We hope this interview with a manager will help prepare people for the craziness that may ensue tomorrow! Thanks again to Lauren Britton for compiling this
